Little Rama and the Moon
When Lord Rama was a small child in the palace of Ayodhya, he was as playful and curious as any other boy. One evening, as the sky turned dark, a bright full moon appeared.
Rama looked up and became fascinated.
"Mother, I want that shining toy in the sky!" he said, pointing at the moon.
Queen Kaushalya smiled gently and tried to distract him. But little Rama was determined. He stretched out his tiny hands and insisted,
"I want the moon! Please bring it to me!"
Seeing that he was about to cry, Kaushalya thought of a clever idea. She brought a bowl filled with water and placed it in front of him.
"Look, Rama," she said softly, "the moon has come down for you."
Rama peeped into the bowl and saw the moon's reflection shimmering in the water. His eyes lit up with joy.
"Oh! The moon is here!" he exclaimed happily.
He tried to catch it with his hands, but the reflection rippled and danced away. Soon, he started laughing instead of crying, delighted by the playful "moon" in the bowl.
Kaushalya watched lovingly as her child giggled and played.
Thus, the little prince who would one day become the great hero of the Ramayana was, for a moment, just an innocent child enchanted by the beauty of the moon.
