A Journey Beyond Time: The King Who Visited Brahma for His Daughter's Marriage

Long ago, there ruled a noble and powerful king named Kakudmi. He was a wise ruler and deeply loved his daughter Revati. Revati was not only extraordinarily beautiful but also intelligent, virtuous, and highly skilled in music and the arts.

As Revati grew older, King Kakudmi began searching for a worthy groom for her. However, he faced a problem. Every prince and nobleman he considered seemed lacking in some way. Some were brave but not wise. Others were learned but not strong in character. The king felt that none of them were truly worthy of his exceptional daughter.

Finally, the king decided to seek advice from the highest authority in the universe - Brahma, the creator of the cosmos. If anyone could suggest the perfect husband for Revati, surely it would be Lord Brahma himself.

Using his spiritual power and determination, King Kakudmi traveled with his daughter to Brahmalok, the celestial realm where Brahma resides. When they arrived at the magnificent gates of Brahma's palace, the guards greeted them respectfully.

However, the guards informed the king that Lord Brahma was currently listening to a divine musical performance by celestial musicians and could not be disturbed. They requested the king and his daughter to wait for a few moments until the performance ended.

King Kakudmi and Revati patiently waited outside the court. The music was so beautiful and enchanting that it felt as if only a few minutes had passed. Soon the performance ended, and they were invited inside.

Standing before the radiant creator, King Kakudmi bowed respectfully and explained his purpose. He presented a list of princes he had considered as possible husbands for Revati and asked Brahma which one would be the best choice.

Lord Brahma smiled gently when he heard the king's question.

Then he said something that stunned both the king and his daughter.

Brahma explained that time flows very differently in the heavenly realms compared to Earth. The short time they had spent waiting outside his court - just a few minutes by their experience - had actually been thousands of years on Earth.

During that time, the entire age in which King Kakudmi had lived had already passed. The princes he had mentioned were long gone. Their kingdoms had disappeared, and many generations had come and gone.

King Kakudmi and Revati were shocked. The world they had known no longer existed.

Seeing their surprise, Lord Brahma reassured them and advised the king not to worry. He told him that in the current age on Earth, the most suitable husband for Revati would be the mighty and noble Balaram, the powerful brother of Krishna.

Following Brahma's advice, King Kakudmi and Revati returned to Earth. But when they arrived, they noticed many changes. The people were smaller in size, their customs had changed, and the great cities of their time had vanished.

Eventually, they reached the city of Krishna. There they met the mighty Balaram.

Revati was much taller than people of the new age because humans had gradually become smaller over the passing ages. With a gentle touch of his divine plough weapon, Balarama adjusted her height to match the people of that era.

Soon afterward, Balaram and Revati were married, and King Kakudmi happily fulfilled his duty as a father.

This remarkable story from ancient mythology beautifully illustrates how time can flow differently in different realms of the universe, something that even modern science discusses today in concepts similar to time dilation.

Human plans are limited, but divine wisdom sees beyond time. Trusting higher guidance can lead to the right destiny.
